End Game was not satisfying, it was a slap to the face. "I'm with ya to the end of...where I can get my long lost girlfriend and live the White Picket Fence Dream in a world where I know you're alive and being tortured in a siberian prison and watching injustice in the world continue on so I don't ever altar the timeline." it spits in the face of Steve's character as a paragon of virtue who fights to do the right thing and stay loyal to his ideals.

I think At the end of Endgame, Steve traveled back to 1945 to live a quiet life with Peggy Carter. Because he is a super-soldier, he remained young, strong, and capable for decades living in the past, a multiversal threat or a recruitment effort (theories suggest Loki or the Time Variance Authority) pulls a still-young Steve Rogers out of his peaceful life to fight Doctor Doom. Then Once the multiversal war is won, Steve is returned right back to his life with Peggy. Steve always only did what he wanted, I will die on this hill. ever since shield fell, he had plenty of opportunity to live for himself, he didn't want to. because if he did he would lose the excuse to do whatever he wanted all the time. he could have moved on, but Steve stayed the exact same person he was before he went in the ice, that's not a good thing, because on the beginning he already wasn't a good person. selfless maybe, but good? I can't see it.
