@drterrysimpson: A cholesterol breakthrough medication just became available. Lipfendra (enlicitide) is a groundbreaking prescription medication from Merck that was approved by the FDA in July 2026 as the world's first once-daily oral pill to lower bad cholesterol (LDL-C). It works by blocking the PCSK9 protein, which helps the liver aggressively clear cholesterol from the bloodstream. This daily tablet offers a highly effective, needle-free alternative for patients who previously had to rely on painful bi-weekly or semi-annual injections. Let’s talk about it! #news #medicine #heartdisease #cholesterol #learnontiktokcontest

So my doctor wanted to put me on statins, but I wasn’t too sure about it. I went a little deeper and found out it’s my thyroid causing problems and my high LDL. I treated my thyroid and my LDL dropped. Why do doctors never look at root cause when it comes to elevated LDL?

Thanks to genetics I have ASCVD. I’M 62. I’VE BEEN ON STATINS SINCE I’M 25. I CURRENTLY TAKE 40 MG ROSUVASTATIN AND REPATHA TWICE A MONTH. MY LDL IS NOW UNDER 40 AND ALL OF MY OTHER NUMBERS ARE GREAT. LUCKILY, I HAVE HAD ZERO SIDE EFFECTS.

Dr. Simpson it is due to your educating us laypeople, I am now on Repatha. I feel a deep sense of gratitude to you. I will now ask my doctor when Lipfendra becomes available. Thank you for all you do for us ordinary folks out here listening to you. ♥️

"List Price: $315 per month ($3,780 annually), which is roughly half the cost of equivalent injectable PCSK9 options." crazy expensive. I hope a generic version will be sold in Europe for a normal price.

I’m on Crestor and haven’t had any side effects but it has only been a month. Is this medication better at lowering LDL than Crestor? I’m guessing it could be expensive. I pay$0.00 for Crestor with WellCare.

I had a widowmaker at 49 and a stent was put in my LAD. I had a triple bypass at 53, and by 54 all 3 arteries closed so they put a stent in my RCA.

Repatha will also DECREASE your HSA or bank account. Hopefully Lipfendra is reasonably priced. I’m not holding my breath.
