I’m 52 and I take it as a compliment. I mean, I don’t look like I’m 23 anymore and that’s ok. Most of the time they mean you look amazing compared to others in your age group. Take the win.

I try to answer everything with humor. Sure, that may be a deflection, but it’s also a great disarmer. If it was intended maliciously, then it disable their weapon, if it was intended, sincerely, however, clumsily, it helps point out the absurdity.

Yes they did. The benefit of the doubt just means allow them to be rude. You do not need to add to an actual compliment. Just saying "You look good" is enough.
