Should have told him if he didn't knock his shit off you were going to get kicked out. He should absolutely know that this is a consequence for his behavior. He's 10. That's plenty old enough to understand that his actions affect people around him.

you should have told him the first night at the first hotel, he needs to see his behaviors have real consequences, since the punishments are doing nothing to make him behave better. he might be a kid but kids need to see the reality, you three could be safe and living in a great and supportive houselhold but because he chose to be inconsiderate with everyone, both of you have to pay for this and thank god they let the girl stay, she deserves peace and safety
