I think some parental controlls are needed, like blocking 18+ sites. They can mess up a kid badly

The only parental controls I have is on the App Store 😐 it’s so annoying because whenever there’s an app I’m told to download they don’t approve the request to get the app and they genuinely ignore what I say but my two sisters, (ones a extrovert and one is handy capped) get constant responses, my friend has a lot more issues with her parental controls because her parents deleted find my and the App Store, so she can’t update any apps, she can’t share her location for her safety or her friends, and she can’t can’t text or call people after certain hours even if it’s a genuine emergency.

Don’t have them and I think they’re stupid. Kids tend to self regulate after a little while without surveillance.

My friend is 13 and had them most her life and her mom even cut off photos and FaceTime.. I had to call her on my home phone at 9 pm on a weekend bc of her phone time screen limit and she has the arm length thingy..

Parental controls should stop at age 13. And then from there continue to check in with ur child but dont control there stuff anymore.

parental controls dont read your texts, they just comtrol what apps you download, websites, your screentime and when you should put it down. its harmless and lets parents track where their children are. ive had parental controls for a while, its harmless. hell, its better for teens since gore and porn webs are extremely accessible and addicting. Addictions are easy when youre a teen.

as someone that had parental controls till i was 13 i prefer them, they kept me safe from what i was curious about on the internet but now i have unrestricted access to what i shouldn’t have seen till i was older. And that’s also the case with many others
