Seeing the school buses stop at extended stays makes me so sad. I’m glad they got a roof over their head but I want those babies to have a home.

I don’t understand how it is less expensive. It’s like $500 or more a week. Over $2k a month for sure. How is that better?

I used to think it would be amazing. Like Eloise at the plaza. But then I saw the resilient Jenkins.

I hate that my city *only* counts street homeless - couch surfers, hotel living, and car living apparently don't count 🙃

I mean I get it. you show up to the hotel, you pay per week, and you get lights, AC/heat, wifi, etc. you wanna move into an apartment? you need an application fee, first months rent, last months rent, AND a security deposit

Living in hotels is a poverty trap. You’re actually better off being totally homeless for a while, saving that money that you would waste on extended stays and save up for a deposit for an apartment.

Cincinnati Public Schools now has a designated parking lot for families of students who live in their cars. Like there's so many homeless students that they needed this.

I just don’t understand how they can pay for it instead of just paying their rent or for their home? Because it’s more expensive than rent renting or living in a home.

when I lived in Orlando, so many families lived in the hotels that busses would pick up/drop off for schools from the hotels. It was so wild seeing it just normalized these families jammed into those rooms because cost of living was so high but they couldn't afford to leave either
