Built Soft in a Hard World Some days it feels like no matter how hard I try, nothing sticks. I show up. I do the right thing. I stay honest. I keep my word. But here is what I am starting to see. Kindness is not about applause. It is not a transaction. It is not “I give so you owe.” It is planting something you may never sit under. Maybe I will not see the impact. Maybe the thank you never comes. But if my softness lightens someone else’s load for even a second, if my words make one person feel less invisible, if my honesty gives someone courage to tell their own truth, then it was never wasted. Maybe the good days are not going nowhere. Maybe they are going into people quietly. Like seeds. And seeds look like nothing for a long time. So no, I am not cursed. I am just built with a heart that refuses to harden. And even if the world does not always handle it well, I would rather be someone who risked loving than someone who never tried at all. One day, all this quiet good is going to grow into something I cannot even see yet. And when it does, it will prove that none of it was for nothing.
