Berate them and challenge their egos until they don’t think they are good enough to go anywhere else then give them small doses of “atta boys” so their lives become solely about getting those small moments from you, competing with others to get them, getting unhealthily jealous when their teammates succeed instead of them, and fear of losing their jobs the majority of the time… yep, that will do it.

This meeting was all about reading lists! No real discussion at all!!! Third guy tried but he was overpowered by CEO and HR, no surprise there. This meeting was the typical definition of talks about talks and no real action! They clearly not moving with the times. Suggested bonus of $4,000 would have been a great solution/ starting point.
