@adivunsolicited: The World Cup is over and it did something I wasn’t expecting it brought so many conversations about geopolitics and the history of settler colonialism to the forefront. Five hundred years of history, and people are still using soccer rosters to debate demographics because they simply don’t understand the history Asking why a team like Argentina looks the way it does is a valid historical inquiry. But asking why African teams don't have white players reveals a total misunderstanding of historyspecifically the difference between settler colonialism and extraction colonialism. We need to all be learning about why the countries in the Americas and Europe have black people in them and the long lasting effects and impact of colonization around the world #worldcup #BlackHistory #BlackTikTok #geopolitics #colonialism
For people who are used to follow REAL FOOTBALL(the rest of the world) politics has always been part of football. Colonialism history, geopolitics, etc

I always wondered why you can’t get a direct flight from the US to Africa. Never even thought about that…

Africa basically funded Europe and the Americas during that period. This contribution can never be repaid.

Glad Americans finally are experiencing why the World Cup is actually important, every 4 years history is brought up and a generation of young kids learn politics and geopolitics information

You are missing important context. The total global population at that time, and how large the population was in different countries. That anchors just how large those numbers were, in a global context of the total human population at that time. 👌
