I am white, and when I was young (12-13) and asked why God gave rules on how to own slaves, when I started deconstructing I wanted to know how black descendents of slaves can believe God loved them. I think God is either evil monster or just a made up idea to control everyone. I am going to look for it, maybe it will answer my questions.

Fredrick Douglas, said hearing the slaves singing the spirituals was the saddest thing. Singing to a god that wouldn’t rescue them. If I still had my Fredrick Douglas book from college, you would see my tear drops on the pages 🥲😭
