You don't need to get a handkerchief. When you get to Japan go to any conbini (convenience store) and buy cooling patches that you can stick to your body wherever you need them. You can also get handkerchiefs in Japan. They're very common and easy to find.

You can buy handkerchiefs with a gel inside them at travel stores... if you can't find one... stop at St. John's on the way and I will take you to them.
