@daniel.amoakoconte: Kidney stones can often be treated successfully, but the best treatment depends on the stone's size, location, type, and whether it is causing blockage or infection. Here are the numerous ways kidney stones can be treated: (1)Drink plenty of water (2–3 litres daily, or more if advised) to help small stones pass naturally. (2)Take prescribed pain relievers to manage discomfort while the stone passes. (3)Use medications such as alpha-blockers (e.g. tamsulosin) to relax the ureter and help the stone pass. (4)Stay physically active, such as walking, if your doctor says it is safe, as movement may help a small stone move. (5)Strain your urine to catch the stone for analysis so the cause can be identified. (6)Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL), which uses sound waves to break stones into smaller pieces. (7)Ureteroscopy with laser lithotripsy, where a small scope and laser are used to break up or remove stones. (8)Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) for large or complex kidney stones. (9)Surgery in rare cases when other treatments are unsuitable or unsuccessful. (10)Treat any urinary tract infection with antibiotics if an infection is present. (11)Limit salt (sodium) intake to reduce the risk of calcium stones. (12)Eat enough calcium from food rather than avoiding it, unless your healthcare provider advises otherwise. (13)Reduce foods high in oxalate (such as spinach, beetroot, nuts, rhubarb, and chocolate) if you have calcium oxalate stones. (14)Reduce excessive animal protein (red meat, poultry, and seafood) if advised. (15)Limit sugary drinks and avoid excessive soft drinks, especially cola. (16)Maintain a healthy body weight through diet and exercise. (17)Increase citrate intake by eating citrus fruits like lemons and oranges if appropriate. (18)Potassium citrate medication may be prescribed to help prevent and dissolve certain stones, especially uric acid stones. (19)Medications such as allopurinol may be prescribed for people with recurrent uric acid stones. (20)Medications such as thiazide diuretics may help prevent recurrent calcium stones in some people (21)Reduce foods high in purines (such as organ meats and some seafood) if you have uric acid stones. (22)Control underlying medical conditions such as gout or hyperparathyroidism that increase stone risk. (23)Have regular follow-up scans and urine or blood tests if you have recurrent kidney stones. (24)Follow a personalised diet and prevention plan based on the type of stone you form. Seek urgent medical attention immediately if you have: (A)Severe pain that does not improve. (B)Fever or chills with kidney stone symptoms. (C)Blood in the urine with severe pain. (D)Difficulty passing urine or inability to urinate. (E)Difficulty passing urine or inability to urinate. (F)Persistent nausea and vomiting. (G)Pain in a single kidney or if you have only one functioning kidney. Know that diagnosis and the right treatment can relieve symptoms, remove the stone, and help prevent future kidney stones. #KidneyStones #KidneyHealth #fyp #fypシ #fypシ゚viral
