the Bible says that money is the root of all evil. Jesus fed 5000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish and you would think if capitalism was something Jesus liked he would have charged the 5000 people money for that, he would have made crazy profit. what do we call it when someone cares that everyone is equally fed but we don't charge them for it? he also healed poor people, that sounds like universal healthcare. can you give examples of the Bible promoting capitalism?

Christianity teaches that our highest purpose is to love God and neighbor. Capitalism teaches that economic activity is organized around private ownership and profit. Those are fundamentally different aims. Whenever profit takes precedence over love, compassion, or justice, capitalism conflicts with the teachings of Jesus.

Americas reason for being capitalist is not so they can help as many people as possible. 🙄

Uhhh. We are 39.6 trillion in debt. And you think Jesus would endorse capitalism? No way. Plus, relating an economic system with the teachings of Jesus is wild stuff.

See, if you paid attention on school, you’d know the “antithesis” of capitalism isn’t socialism, it’s communism. But it’s hard to make your disingenuous political points by drawing a line between two completely different forms of market economies, so why not just lie and pretend they’re the same thing. Or were you so uneducated you thought they were the same thing?
