I’m waiting for an amphetamine based slow release adhd med that works like Jornay so it can be taken at night and be active when a person wakes up.

I need a stimulant that doesn’t cause my HR to rest >100 or cause palpitations.

Stimulants are the meds that completely quiet my anxiety. It took me a lifetime to find this out and fighting my my docs to take me seriously.

As someone who had to get a catheter put in after not peeing for 3 days because of strattera. It also made me feel like I was dying. I will never understand why they push non-stimulatory medications so hard. Even after that whole event the psychiatrist I was seeing refused to put me on stimulants. Even though I've been diagnosed with ADD since I was a child. Little to say I found a new doctor.
.
Also stimulants fixed it immediately. They're also worried about the addictive potential of it. Mofos I forget to take my Adderall all the time.

i think it’s a good pursuit to achieve the same efficacy without the cardiovascular side effects or other side effects that may be intolerable for some people. but currently no lead thats even close as far as i’m aware

Maybe they should start making the meds already on the market correctly again. It’s been years and we are exhausted.

I find my patients with both autism and adhd often have trouble tolerating stimulants. I’m also an addiction doc and some of my stimulant use d/o patients don’t want to be on a stimulant. It’s disappointing they can’t come up with something better.

I don't need anyone to admit anything I just need to look at the SNDRI affinity for dopamine versus serotonin and the dose range.

Oh, I’ve been waiting for it to get approved! I do take stimulants, but I’d love to have a baseline medication that helps on the days I don’t want to take one. Right now I’m on Lexapro and Wellbutrin, so I’m wondering if this medication could potentially replace both and simplify things into one daily pill. How does it compare?

so, stimulants are actually seen as problematic to prescribe for patients with heart issues like me. I was straight up told that this is why I'm getting prescribed strattera+wellbutrin, not adderall. but given that grasping at straws approach that claims to treat comorbid anxiety and depression, this trial in particular is giving peak biotech patent cliff.

My psych and I were talking about it last time I had an appt. She said that it was supposed to help with the emotional regulation difficulties of ADHD as well as some of the other effects. Sounds like it might be worth trying alongside a lower dose, IR, stimulant?

stimulants will never be replaced as the main treatment for adhd, i understand kind of why we will try for alternatives especially considering it being a controlled substance and abuse potential, but if it’s someone with adhd, it’s VERYYY likely it’s far from misused, hell i forget to take them sometimes

No all ADHD patients can use stimulant so what’s wrong for looking for an alternative?
