Texas resident here…it is infuriating to see our fellow black voters act this way. James is out there, Paxton wouldn’t be caught dead in a black district. Writing in jasmine or not voting is so SO stupid.

Why are we pretending that Talarico hasn't spent the last 8 years in the Texas House actively and successfully legislating issues that are important to Black communities (advocating for victims of police violence, incarcerated minors, low-income diabetes patients)... I am at a loss when I hear how black voters don't know what he'll do for Black Texans... Just SAY you don't pay attention.

I understand the frustration of the African American voters in TX. That being said, how did they let the GOP rule TX for the last 27 years? Now they have a viable candidate in Telerico, and all of a sudden they have all these demands from him but not from Paxton!!!! What are your reasons for not supporting Telerico? By any chance, did he win the primary over Jasmine? I love Jasmine, but she lost the primary; that's all!! By not voting for Telerico, your community is prevailing the hold of GOP over TX. How have been the last 27 been for y'all? Just answer this question

He literally rolled out a whole policy plan on how to tackle black maternal mortality in spite of the overturning of roe v wade which is killing HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF BLACK WOMEN sense roe was overturned ontop of helping write and pass house bill 54 which banned Texas law enforcement agencies from partnering w reality TV shows which multiple studies showed enhanced the risk of black Americans facing police brutality AND senate bill 827 which he joint authored that capped legislation copays at 25$ per prescription, which provided significant relief to communities of color that disproportionately are impacted by diabetes, AND actively led protest and broke quorum to fight against gerrymandering that disproportionately effects black and brown communities statewide AND has stated he would support the federal George Floyd act which would directly combat police violence at the federal level. THIS IS VS PAXTON WHO WONT EVEN ANSWER QUESTIONS REGARDING HIS OWN CAMPAIGN AND RUINED A BLACK GRANDMOTHERS LIFE OVER ALLGED “voter fraud” WHILE COMMITTING THAT CRIME INTENTIONALLY HIMSELF 6 TIMES OVER. Ik it’s not my place as a white man especially to tell the black community what’s best for them but it’s in our faces on full display. Ik I’ll never know what it’s like sense I am white however I am gay so I know at some degree what it is like to be oppressed for something you can’t control and being rightfully upset you don’t feel represented in the political process. I just ask that we look at the facts and make a decision on what’s best for not only ourselves but for our communities and everyone else in this state.

If you sit out until you see your perfect candidate you’re going to lose your right to vote. I think jasmine crockett is a traitor and Paxton is an absolute disgrace of a Texan. Talirico is the clear right choice for Texas to actually go from the one star state to the lone star state again. Sitting out of the vote is going to make things continue as they are. People have this problem where they conflate accountability and a perfect candidate. They want to wait for a perfect candidate meanwhile the clearly evil take your rights away candidate and his voters are coming out in droves to make sure YOU stay beneath them.

I’m hearing the frustration from what you are saying but long term thinking is important . Texans have a chance to start breaking the republican stranglehold of Texas . Sitting out or writing in Jasmine’s name will swing to Paxton. Paxton doesn’t care about the black community. Break the evil hold on Texas and start building more black candidates for better representation. We have to start somewhere and this is the best chance .
