@Yeah me: It will not use more energy to cool down than to maintain a cooler temperature. More heat will be absorbed into the house and have to be removed by the air conditioning if the temperature difference is larger (cold inside) than if it’s warm all day. It’s the same on a larger scale. If you leave the ac off for a week, it will use less energy to cool it back down than to keep it cool the entire time. I’m an engineer.
