You know Jo’s monologue in Little Women about women being so much more than just capable of love? And then at the end she says “but I’m just so lonely”. People cut that part out. You can be a full, complex, inspired woman and still want connection, romantic or otherwise. If love is important to you, let it be.

As a man in that same situation my unsolicited advice would be to approach men. Send the first message, and continue to message. Ask us questions about ourselves, offer us information about yourself. So many matches on dating apps never go anywhere because I don’t message first, or because I ask about something on your profile and get a 1-5 word response with nothing to follow up on. Take the initiative. Ask men on dates
