My boomer mother was given a brand new car when she was a teenager, had her wedding paid for was given a down payment for a house and her parents would babysit us kids. My mother said I don’t owe you anything and kicked us out of the house at 18! Didn’t want to involved in my kids life either

Many of them defended the Vietnam War, even after they came back from fighting in it. Even after being doused in Agent Orange. They came home and voted for Nixon/Reagan and never looked back.

On a cruise with majority boomers right now. I’ve overheard several conversations about blowing all their money before they die so there’s nothing left for the kids. They laugh about it. It is their money, sure, but what kind of parents in their 70-80s wouldn’t consider the advantage that money could give their kids rather than bragging and laughing about squandering it. It feels gross. Anecdotally my boomer grandma is my favorite person. But I know she was a terror to my mom.

I'm Gen X and we were the first generation to begin calling them out, but we were told to shut up and sit down. We are tired at this point. The fact that every generation has issues with the Boomers, but the Boomers have issues with every generation makes it clear who the problem is!

Love that they did those things, then expected school systems to teach their kids EVERYTHING. Bitch, you got rid of Home Ec. Then didnt teach us to cook. Not to mention about how credit works and how to balance our "checkbooks" and budget.
