@kelseyalfred: 🩶✨ hip replacement recovery: day 10 💙 I’ve developed a new sharp pain that I’m keeping a close eye on. You’re generally not expecting new sharp pains during recovery, but sometimes it ends up being just another crappy part of healing. 🤷‍♀️ I’m documenting it as it happens, and I have my post-op follow-up in a couple of days. If anything comes from it, I’ll let you know. 🤍 #SticklerSyndrome #HipReplacementRecovery #AnteriorHipReplacement #DualMobilityHip #SurgeryRecovery

I’m 17 days post op- have had good days and bad days. I got pretty bad groin pain for a few days about a week ago and now I’ve got pain on the outside of my hip for the past 2 days- I’m thinking it’s all part of the healing process.

Wonder if it’s nerves reattaching? I get zaps sometimes, it feels electric. BTW, if there’s adhesive stuck on your skin when bandage comes off, rubbing Vaseline gently into the skin helps it come off.

Ice it. Have a day or two of doing nothing. Don’t overdo yourself. You probably moved too quick or a wrong way. Take it easy. Relax.

Your search says strained hip flexor which is weird bc mine was strained 😳holy moly that was an ordeal. I had a week off so I physically slept on my back like it said to with knee propped on a pillow and did that for 3 weeks. Took four weeks just to heal that. So I could imagine the hip replacement taking quite some time to “really” heal ya know. I’m praying for ya girlie AND proud of you for getting it done❤️

you and I had surgery the same day. I have unfortunately not had an easy recovery. I havent been able to put full weight on my hip yet because the pain is so bad. may have to go back into surgery depending on some scans! I love your videos and im also a little jealous!

I’ve had so many pains here and there during my THR recovery now at 5 months I wake up and think what’s going to hurt today. Was told by my surgeon that for the first year this is normal.

I’ve seen you walk with a limp in your other video. Strengthen your glute medius. Take a foam roller & place it between a wall and your hip (try left first), then move the leg furthest away from wall to the side. Do several reps on each side, and see which leg is harder to move to the side, do more on that side.

Stay ahead of pain meds remember they cut through muscle and nerves just stay ahead of meds 20-30 minutes to stay under med effects also your hip flexors will adjust over time stop over thinking it’s skeletal pain
