@dylandeckislost: 150 - how to learn, remember and integrate things quickly! These are my tips after studying psychology at university for 6 years! This is a remake of a video I made previously, updated because I think I can describe it better now! #psychology #university #study #LearnOnTikTok #productivity
Something I’ve noticed too is people googling things straight away for an answer, rather than discussing and trying to work it out/recall it

also for highlighting: read the whole text/page before highlighting! you can’t decide what parts are more /most important if you’re not familiar with the sum of those parts. plus it invites a second readthrough, this time punctured by a more critical eye

At uni I used to study just before going to bed. It helped me retain a lot of information. For some reason this works for some people. Brilliant video Dylan 🙏🏻

I was a big fan of the video as someone who loves learning about how the brain learns. From my research I always found that when building schemas it is important to simplify, compare contrast, find relationships (obviously) and then organize these relationships in a hierarchy for prioritization. What do you think about that? And are you a fan of mind maps? I am a strong believer of it being much more effective that simply writing notes in sentences

i think i understand now why i do much better with multiple choices exam rather than written essays one. bc like you said when rereading or highlighting slides/notes i was just familiarizing and not doing any active recalling. thank you sm for the video, made me motivated to find new learning techniques that suits me ahead of coming back to uni next month 🥹

I have a dual highlighting method because my brain initially struggles to filter out information that’s truly not needed. So I’ll go through and highlight everything I believe to be relevant or potentially useful then I’ll annotate around it to pick out what’s going to help my brain categorize the information in a concise and effective manner. This strategy has revolutionized my ability to absorb information in a way that increases my capacity disseminate it to others.

I’m studying psych too, I’m in my second year. My uni allows ai as a tool if used critically. Do use ai as a tool for studying?
