As the population and commercial activity increased over the years, the infrastructure struggled to keep pace. For many years, people commonly experienced problems such as: * Damaged and uneven roads * Narrow carriageways causing heavy traffic congestion * Dirt and dust during dry weather * Mud and standing water after rainfall * Encroachments by handcarts and roadside vendors in some areas * Poor drainage and sewerage issues * Old and worn commercial buildings, with some lacking exterior plaster or proper maintenance * Congested markets with limited parking and pedestrian space * Broken footpaths and inadequate street facilities These issues affected daily commuters, shoppers, business owners, and nearby residents.
