I do miss when English voice actors just sounded like regular guys. Don't get me wrong, the acting itself isn't anything special. But it was nice when they weren't putting on these over the top performances.

This is actually the sort of moscharvaterization all the 1999 filler scenes lead to. Gon never tells killua about hisoka giving him the badge in the manga. However killua does hit him. Killua does this because he still has lingering insecurity and a need to be better in strength related things to prove his worse. However now it looks like the scene is because Gon won’t tell him about hisoka or hisoka did something to him, completely destroying the subelty and point. Filler scenes are hit or miss and generally they are getting the vibe right or the characters but with so many it slowly diverges from the point of the story and mischaracterizes
