Inside the store, Jennie handed her a basket. "Take whatever you want." The girl carefully wandered through the aisles. Jennie secretly watched her. She expected chips... Candy... Or expensive desserts. Instead... The girl only placed a loaf of bread... A bottle of water... A small chocolate milk... And a cup of instant noodles. Then she smiled. "I'm done." Jennie looked inside the basket. "...That's all?" The girl nodded shyly. "I don't want you to spend too much money." Jennie stared at her for several seconds before silently taking another basket. She began filling it. Fresh meals. Rice bowls. Fruits. Juice. Milk. Biscuits. Chocolate. Ice cream. Yogurt. Even a stuffed bunny from the toy shelf somehow found its way into the basket. The girl's mouth slowly fell open. "...That's so much..." Jennie answered without looking at her. "...You'll need it." "But..." "No arguments." The cashier smiled while scanning the mountain of groceries. Outside, the girl suddenly stopped walking. She carefully opened the loaf of bread. Then she walked toward a skinny stray puppy sleeping beside a trash bin. "Here..." She broke the bread in half and gently fed the puppy. The puppy happily wagged its tail. Jennie quietly watched. "...You're hungry too." The girl smiled. "He looks hungrier." Something inside Jennie's chest tightened. She couldn't explain why.
