That list isn’t a population survey. It’s a list of customers. FTDNA’s database is built from whoever paid ~$100-$200 and mailed in a swab. That’s it. It’s not a random sample, not a census, not a peer-reviewed population study. If you want actual population frequency data for C haplogroup subclades across Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Russia, and China, you need academic Y-DNA studies with controlled sampling — not a commercial customer database.

In addition, numerous archaeological discoveries, such as the royal burial sites at Noyon Uul and Gol Mod, have been found in Mongolia. Therefore, based on current historical and archaeological evidence, the widely accepted view is that the Xiongnu (Hunnu) Empire originated in the Mongolian steppe and developed into a powerful empire from there.
