The Dave Nystrom :
I got a ticket for “not having a valid license” in Cali after presenting my valid Canadian license. When I went to court and showed the judge my license, he was furious with the cop and tore a strip off of him. He even waived my $90 court fee, apologized and told me to have a nice day. Good judge.

Unfortunately CA and NY cops are extremely arrogant and they are used to get their way, and god forbid you contradict them.

You're Wrong :
Its actually the Geneva Convention that allows it. Make sure your complaint in the future clearly states they are in violation of it.
