33.3% chance of choosing right means 66.6% chance of choosing wrong, so if u could take both the other doors you’d have a 66.6% chance of being right in 1 of them but now he shows u 100% there is a goat behind one of these other two doors but that 66.6% chance of the other 2 being right is still there and you know it’s not the one with the goat so u have a 66.6% chance of the door you switch to being right assuming u don’t pick the one u know has a goat and he doesn’t show u the car outright

For people that are confused on why it’s not 50% chance. You initially pick a door out of 3 which is 33.3% chance (1/3). Let’s say you pick door 1. No matter what happens, your door stays 33.3% (1/3). Now, let’s say the host opens door number 3. Because he’s told you there’s a goat behind that door, the chances increase for door number 2. Door number 2 is untouched and nobody picked it. So the 2 doors you didn’t originally pick are 66.7% combined. But because the host opens door 3 and reveals a goat, that means that 66.7% falls onto door number 2. By picking door 2, you have 2/3 chance of winning the car. So by switching from your initial pick of door 1 (33.3% chance) you now have a higher probability of getting the car because door 2 is now 66.7% chance.

for those that need help understanding the problem, here's the most simple explanation I can give with details. Every single game is 2 goats and 1 car. It doesnt matter which door you choose, its always going to be a 1/3 chance you chose the right one. Now, If you always stay with your original choice, it doesnt matter if the host removes a goat, you still have the original 1/3 chance that you chose correctly. Now let's say you decide to switch, you still had that 1 in 3 chance of picking the right door, but the moment the announcer removes the door, you are left with a 2/3 chance if you swapped. Why? Because everytime you pick a goat and make a swap you are GUARANTEED to win the car. So, let me recap the better odds with swapping. Every time you choose a goat (which is a 2/3) and swap, you are guaranteed to win the car (because you chose a goat, the host removes the other and you swap to the car). Its a little tricky and completely normal to see the 50/50 dilemma but once you understand it it becomes much much clearer.

I hate this video it’s widely incorrect. Variable change is situated becayse there’s a new chance. There was 3 doors which made it 33.3%. But when the equation changed to 2 doors it became 50/50. Not 66.7%
