my father was once a farmer. we have rice fields in our province, and i grew up seeing how much hard work goes into producing every grain of rice. farming is never easy. before every harvest, the fields have to be prepared, planted, watered, and cared for every single day under the heat of the sun. it takes months of patience, sacrifice, and hope before the rice is finally ready to harvest. when harvest season came, our hard work paid off. we had sacks of rice stored for our family, and we could even bring some back with us to the city. those sacks of rice were more than just food, they were the result of my father's dedication, our family's livelihood, and the sacrifices that put meals on our table. that's why i can't ignore the possible impact on our farmers and farmlands. if we lose our rice fields, we don't just lose rice, we lose the people who feed our nation, the livelihoods of countless families, and the future of philippine agriculture. our farmers deserve protection, not uncertainty. let's stand with them and protect the lands that help feed every filipino.

My lolo is a rice farmer and yung hirap niya sa pag sasaka grabe lang. Utang pa ang pinupuhanan sa pag tatanim, pag papatubig etc. Hindi pa nahaharvest ang pananim naubos na tapos ang kilo is 13-15 pesos 💔

sinong hindi maiiyak? Sobrang taas ng kuryente pati krudo na ginagamit sa pam patubig dagdag mo pa yung punla na gagamitin sa pagsak, mga pataba at labor ng mga magtatanim pati mga pa meryenda. Yung oras na nilaan nila sa pagsasaka walang wala sa kinikita nila, bibilhin ba naman ang palay ng 8 to 10 pesos, halos dito sa Nueva Ecija as of now maraming hindi nagsaka dahil sa wala na ngang tubig apaka mahal pa ng gagamitin tapos ang kikitain mo kakarampot?? pero pag dating sa Mercado aabot ng 50 pataas ang presyo ng bigas? ang nakakainis pa alam na nga nilang anihan na tsaka nila itataon na maglalabas ng import goods ending puno ang storage, mags-stop buying o kaya ipipilit nila sa mababang presyo. Ni walang kinikita ang magsasaka, wala silang source of income for 3 months to 5 months na hihintayin nila para sa anihan ang iba nga ay nangungutang para sa puhunan! Imbis na matuwa sila pag dating ng anihan mangongoblema pa kung kakasya ang nakita pambayad sa utang, pambili ulit ng puhunan o may pangkain ba hanggang sa susunod na pagsasaka. Ang hirap ng buhay magsasaka at hindi magiging SAPAT ang barya-barya nilang kinikita!!!!!!
