Montessori preschool teach here. If you aren’t familiar with Montessori look it up. We don’t use technology at all, and our students have far better educational outcomes than students in the public school systems that operate on a high percentage of screen time. The Montessori model is almost 120 years old and has been successfully implemented in China, Europe, and other countries that now outperform the US in educational scores. It’s very “back to the basics”. Dr Horvath is 100% correct.

Yet teachers want more money. I am one that’s against teachers today and their union which has a lot of power. We spend more per kid on education but math, reading and writing levels are going down . Btw I am not saying there not good teachers out there but dept of education and unions rule

It’s not just digital technology it’s also the teachers who don’t teach and instruct like they use to. The computer covers the information but the teacher can enhance the information. The lack of teaching of cursive is because everyone digitally signs documents but everyone should have a signature. It’s an inconvenient truth that our nation is dumbing down which explains how Trump became President people are losing their common sense thinking.
