After my last video, the comment section insisted I wasn’t spinning it fast enough, long enough, hard enough or possibly with enough intelligence. Yep, I was told I was too stupid to use a spin mop 🤣🤣🤣 So I tested it again. I spun the mop 30 times, then squeezed out what was still trapped inside. The amount of water that came out was honestly shocking. And to clear up the biggest misunderstanding: I never said spin mops are bad mops. I said spin mops are not recommended for hardwood or engineered wood flooring because even when the mop head feels damp, it can still hold and release more water than you realize. The National Wood Flooring Association does not recommend the use of these mops, nor do wood flooring manufacturers . . . so don’t blame the messenger! Have tile, vinyl, or another water-safe floor? Spin away, my friend. It’s your house. I’m not coming over to confiscate your mop. 😂 But hardwood and engineered wood can be damaged when excess moisture works its way into the seams, finish, or layers beneath the surface.
