So I worked at the Goodwill, this was about 15 years ago but as a worker they told us that we were to never stop a shoplifter because everything was donated that there was no reason to stop them at all they should just be allowed to have it. I don't know if this is still a rule but it was back then.. so if let's say, a homeless person, wants to go in there and take shoes and walk out with them as an employee we were told to never stop them.

I own a high end consignment shop Fantasia, I owe my clients money 40% of what I sell it for. If someone is in need I buy it for them so my consigner does get her portion!!!

They’re a “for profit” store. Salvation Army is also a “for profit” store. I quit donating to both of them.

This is why I donate to the churches now. I’ve seen them try to charge more than what the item would cost brand new for certain things, and it blows my mind.

I hate them as well!! I will not go there unless I'm trying to find something specific in hopes to find it. This just disgusts me. Awesome that you got him shoes and a coat. I couldn't imagine both, but the no shoes?!

This! I can’t stand Goodwill. Now that it’s such a trend for everybody to go thrifting, Goodwill has jacked up there prices. I don’t donate to them anymore. All of my donations go to women shelter and Catholic Charities. The years they have become extremely disappointing. This is horrible and good on you that you bought those shoes and coat for that poor homeless man. Shame on Goodwill. 🌸

When I go to the Salvation Army, I see them helping the people sleeping on the street all the time dry sleepwear new clothes, and lots of socks. That’s because the Salvation Army is actually a religion and they actually care about serving others.
