Kalau anak terus menolak makan, yang perlu diperhatikan juga adalah pola pertumbuhannya. Apalagi kalau BB mulai tidak naik, turun, atau kenaikannya tidak sesuai pola sebelumnya. Perubahan kondisi tubuh memang bisa menjadi petunjuk, tetapi tulang rusuk yang terlihat atau lengan yang tampak kecil tidak cukup untuk memastikan anak mengalami wasting. Penilaiannya perlu menggunakan pengukuran pertumbuhan yang sesuai. Pada anak usia 6–59 bulan, LiLA dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu alat skrining wasting. Tenaga kesehatan juga dapat menilai BB menurut panjang/tinggi badan serta kondisi klinis anak. Jadi saat GTM berlangsung lama, coba perhatikan: 🔸 BB: masih naik atau mulai stuck? 🔸 Pola pertumbuhan: apakah berbeda dari sebelumnya? 🔸 LiLA: terutama untuk anak 6–59 bulan 🔸 Tampilan tubuh: apakah anak terlihat semakin kurus? 🔸 Kondisi lain: nafsu makan, aktivitas, dan keluhan kesehatan Kalau BB anak terus stagnan atau justru turun, jangan hanya menunggu GTM berhenti sendiri.
