Ask any nurse who works in a hospital…when a man is ill his wife will be there for him 100%. When a woman is ill, more often than not it is other females in her life, a daughter, sister etc who will be there.

When I make a meal for the family and serve everyone’s up, run and get them drinks and what condiments etc that they want then I sit down and they’re just about finished and they all get up and walk away leaving me to eat alone. That sting stays with you ❤️🩹

I have become the man I wanted in my life. I learned to love myself and put myself first. It has freaked out my entire existence with my family. I realize no one cared, was going to show up for me and all the love I thought I had was conditional, controlled and self serving for the people in my life. I put up boundaries, got my health and wealth back by focusing on my business and myself. I love me now. I give the love I need to myself. I show up for me.

I used to write letters and post cards to my whole family including nieces and nephews. Custom made cards etc. From 2008 till 2014. While ai was serving in the Military. Received some back in 2008 but then seldomly after. I just didn’t want them to think I forgot them or stopped loving them. Been living in Germany from 2008 till today with a small break time in Washington of less than two years. I waited by the phone for years for phone calls. It ended up being me chasing them to catch up. I have 6 sisters, 4 brothers, and 30 nieces and nephews. I wrote hundreds of letters. I stopped calling regularly since 2019. Although some conversations with a few siblings are still very meaningful it’s not the same energy as I gave out. My youngest sibling was 12 when I left for training. He sent me a toy soldier in the summer of 2008. I missed him, my best bud. I had such a difficult time with my run time. I took a toy soldier with me on my last qualification run and passed with seconds left. My little bro and I are besties. I still have his little toy soldier in a clear box on my shelf. I am glad at least I have a good relationship with him. I helped raise that kid, now a grown man I am so proud of. But as I said I am lucky because I do have some meaningful conversations with other siblings too. I can not depend on anyone. I am the one people depend on. Now I take care of me and my daughters and we love living just us Ladies.

I can't tell you how often I'm ridiculed for not being married or having children like something is wrong with me and I couldn't "land" a man. I just wasn't willing to sacrifice my light, my spirit, my worth, my soul unless a man saw me, accepted me and stood by me. I'm 68 and don't regret my choice rather than minimize myself.
