Rosemount tech here, you could also isolate the transmitter and if your able to blow through both sides with the equalizer open a lot of times there’s liquid inside and after it normally goes back down to 0 with any adjustment

99.8% of the time on a rosemount or yokogawa, blow it down and set a zero trim and it will get you right back in line. Magnatrol or Siemens on the other hand, just pitch them in the scrap bin

I had someone argue with me if your measuring a pressure in a vessel that has a vacuum or negative pressure on it that the fluid inside of it would not travel freely in the vessel.

It's slightly more complicated but that philosophy applies to almost any transmiter. you're applying a value from a certified source and matching it to the instrument range in a linear manner.

I do this and thus doesn’t explain much. Show the inexperienced people wanting to know how to do this more information than this. Show them how to isolate then how to put on the measuring device. Then exactly how to zero and span it. This is very vague
