@aboardthedream: There are pro’s and con’s to “drivable” vs “towable” in the RV realm. I’ll save that debate for the folks who have experience with both. We looked at some pretty awesome 5th wheels and travel trailers when we began our search. (I still love how much more “residential” they feel) Ultimately we went with a drivable and here’s why: It all comes down to COMFORT. We had never towed anything before, (seriously not even a U-Haul trailer)… so towing our home seemed like a big undertaking that we just weren’t that comfortable with. We move a lot. Our typical campground stay is 3-5 days, with pretty hefty miles in between. We needed something that was easy to pack up and drive off, so we can hit the road early… without the stress of hitching our home first. Backing the coach into a site is a piece of cake. Backing a towable? For some, it might be simple. For us? Let’s just say we weren’t comfortable being the campground entertainment. We love the convenience of access to our fridge (easy to grab snacks without planning ahead and packing a cooler). We also like access to a bathroom without having to pull over every two hours. (My little bladder gets overly excited on big travel days 😆) We are new to this. We make mistakes. (I can’t tell you how many times one of us has forgotten to latch the fridge door). I’m much more comfortable knowing when I do make a mistake, I find out pretty quickly. Will we always choose a drivable? Only time will tell. For our current lifestyle, experience level, and mission, right now it’s the option we’re most comfortable with. Which are you most comfortable with? Drivable or a towable? Have experience with both? I’d love to hear your experience in the comments. #rv #rvlife #rvlifestyle #motorhome #fyp

Because my wife can make something for us to eat, go to the bathroom, take a nap, watch TV and I don't have to stop until I need to, cover so much more road this way

My biggest problem with a drivable is that I don't feel like there is any safe space for my kids to ride.

towable is better. you can drop it off and just take your truck into town for entertainment.

So a motorhome vs a toy hauler or bumper pull? As a motorhome owner calling it a drivable is hilarious.

whenever I see people putting their feet on the dash, it reminds me of a car accident video where a woman was doing that, And the vehicle came out of nowhere and hit their vehicle. her knee caps went through her head pretty much. Don't put feet on the dash. because a simple survivable car accident that you could walk away from, becomes a deadly or life-changing one. just don't do it

no hate at all the one thing I like about have a trailer, is if anything breaks on the tow vehicle, u still have a place to live, and not have to spend money on a hotel ontop of the repair cost. but again no hate. I love thw look and how big some of these motorhomes are.

i would get a drivable but a part of me feels forcing myself to have the experience or pulling a trailer and having the ability to run around easier once im at camp rather than having to haul litterally EVERYWHERE i went is better than the couple of pros with a drivable

I hope it works for you, my only issue is if it breaks down, something more serious than a flat and it has to be serviced, now you lose your home and may have to sit in a hotel till it’s fixed. That happened to us in the middle of no where. Good thing we towed a car to get around. I’ll stick with the towables. Happy RVing.
