My Ranger/rogue elf only used his bow, but had dual short swords just in case. My old dm loved possessing my elf with ghosts and he’d turn on my team and absolutely demolish them with short swords and then I’d stop being possessed and go back to using a bow and my teammates were traumatized any time I got possessed.. 😂

I love and hate this scene. I wish they let the orcs crash into the shield wall and THEN had the elves jump over and into the middle of the orcs. Then the dwarves should have pushed up and past and repeated the process. That would have kept the coolness but added in some strategy (whether or not it’s realistic) I get the argument that the elves are trying to one up the dwarves cause they hate each other at the moment, but it just feels to dumb for LOTR elves to do that.

not really a waste. dwarf spear wall used as a diversion for Elf surprise jump attack. then elf jump used as a diversion for dwarf spear charge.

The shield wall was a distraction for the surprise attack from the elven warriors. Orchestra thought they had to break the wall so they tunnel visioned on it and didn't expect the elves to enter the battle at the last moment. Proving the battlefield is never as it appears and is ever changing
