@greatbritisharchitecture: Would you like to live on a medieval bridge? Well a few people in Lincoln are lucky enough to live on Britain’s only medieval bridge to still have buildings on it. For clarity, when we describe the High Bridge in Lincoln as Britain’s only medieval bridge to still have buildings on it, we are excluding medieval bridges with bridge chapels on them - such as St Ives, Rotherham, and Wakefield. Additionally, a key word is medieval, as there are some later bridges that have buildings on them, such as the Georgian Pulteney Bridge in Bath and the Frome Bridge in Somerset.
