@zerodollarcoaching: Your most loyal employee isn’t always your highest-paid employee. Not because you don’t value them. Because the market moved… and they never forced you to catch up. The scary part? The raise you’re avoiding today is usually the cheapest it’ll ever be. Once they leave, you’ll pay today’s market rate anyway—except now you’re paying a stranger while six years of experience walks out the door. Business owners… be honest. Have you ever realized someone on your payroll was underpaid before they realized it? #BusinessOwner #SmallBusiness #Leadership #Entrepreneur #Management
Loyal employees get ripped off. Find a new job every 2-3 years

I was never late, or had un explained absence a single day in a job I worked for 5 years. I was a talented glazier with good command of CAD. I asked for a 2 dollar raise they said no. I once was working in a government project and one of the managers who knew me there told me they had posted jobs and would love me to apply. I applied and immediately got 10 dollar bump in my wage, union, government with massive benefits. I will never forget the face of my boss when I gave him the notice. He asked me so many questions and still was respectful enough to answer him honestly

Yes, unfortunately they give the better wages to new employees so every two years if I see my wage not being raised, I give it to myself. By getting a new job.!

once I place notice I'm out there's no going back. I couldn't trust you to pay me correctly when you didn't know I was thinking about leaving I can't trust you not to pay me more just long enough to find my replacement before kicking me to the curb. Once the idea that walking is on the table the company can start looking for a replacement on their schedule why giving you a false sense of security.

Years ago I was at a job working the biggest route in the company and therefore working the most hours. I was making $17.50 and asked for a raise of .50 after the first year based on how pleased they were with my work, minimal, reasonable, yet I never got it despite being told I deserved it. They started hiring for $20 so now I was seeing new people come and go for more than I was making and we had different flavors of this conversation for the next two years until I decided I was leaving. That’s when they decided they were finally going to grant my .50 raise, which was still $2 less than the market value for new hires. I told them I deserved more than new hires and ended up leaving. Pay your employees what they deserve and you won’t have to spend thousands recruiting new people to do half-ass versions of their work.

My industry has been having a really hard time with this right now. Companies keep fighting over the same handful of skilled labor. Yet the guys that stick with a company are getting $4-5 less than everywhere else.

I've left 3 jobs. pay was the reason. they ask whats it take to keep you? I say way too late. you should've thought about that the last 2-3 years ago
