When he held baby Jesus, he declared, "My eyes have seen your salvation." I made a spiced carrot juice to honour this moment because carrots are known for sharpening our sight. For me it represents not just clarity of vision, but the moment we truly recognise Christ. . Course 1: Corn Ribs with Chipotle Sour Cream 🌽 Luke 6:1 to 5 As the disciples picked grain on the Sabbath, the Pharisees criticised them. Jesus reminded them of David and declared, "The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath." I made this dish because the kernels of corn remind me of the grain the disciples picked, and of Jesus's authority to allow it. Nourishment not just for the body, but for the soul. . Course 2: Vietnamese Banh Mi 🥖 Luke 4:1 to 4 After 40 days of fasting in the wilderness, Jesus was tempted to turn stones into bread. He responded, "Man shall not live on bread alone." I filled my banh mi with char siu, pickled carrots, mooli and Vietnamese sausage. It's bread with so much more, just like life is so much more than food. . Mains: Fried Noodle Net with Chinese Stir Fried Monkfish 🐟 Luke 5:1 to 8 By the Lake of Gennesaret, after a long night of catching nothing, Jesus told Simon to cast the nets again. This time the catch was overwhelming. Simon fell at His feet, and Jesus called him to be a fisher of men. I created a fried noodle net to represent the disciples' nets, and the monkfish is their divine catch. Abundance, obedience, and a calling to a new purpose. . Dessert: White Chocolate Soufflé with Pistachio Ice Cream and Chocolate Crumble 🍨 Luke 24 The resurrection. The tomb once sealed, now open. The stone rolled away. "He is not here. He is risen!"
