@chandeliersandchampagne: Just over here trying to make all the summer memories with the kids but – not going to lie – activities in and around Edmonton can get pretty pricey! That’s why I didn’t want to gatekeep this St Albert local gem that’s free to visit: our botanic park.

This beautiful garden is completely run and maintained by volunteers and they do an excellent job. The gardens are so pretty and totally free to visit (though you can leave a donation). While it isn’t huge, I visit a few times a year with the kids for an hour or so - they love checking out the names of all the plants.

The St Albert Botanic Park is open year-round from sunrise to sunset but in the summer months there’s also a gift shop selling cute, local goods, plus a patio and washrooms, open from 10am-5pm. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There’s construction on the parking lot at the moment - there are several pedestrian access points along Red Willow Trail. If needed, you can also find parking at Kingswood Park, the SAMBA ball diamonds and nearby schools. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have you visited these gardens before? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
