tbh I see the instructor being in the wrong if the obstruction is on your side of the road the bin lorry's already passing the obstruction the learner should have stopped. secondly if any sensible driver sees a lorry, tractor, bus or any large vehicle they pull in to let them past in this scenario

High way code Commitment: If a vehicle has already started moving past the parked cars and is close, you must let them through regardless of which side the obstruction is on.

from watching the first video I think you're in the wrong the obstruction was on your side of the road and you can clearly see the truck coming up the road . should of waited until it was clear to proceed 👍
