@kayleerabaja: Primary pumps vs wearable pumps. What do you actually need? Wearable pumps are nice to have, but not required. Primary pumps are essential! Hi, I’m Kaylee! I’m a registered nurse and board certified lactation consultant. We recently launched @lactologygroup, a space for breastfeeding education, pumping education, bottle feeding education, postpartum care, and more. So how long does it take typically to establish your supply before you recommend we can start mixing in the wearables?

Also, buy it when youre like 32 weeks, preterm labour does happen and you want to be prepared (personal experience)

What about the Lansinoh natural wave double electric pump as a primary? I think it’s newer.

It’s only the norm for breast pumps to be covered by insurance in the U.S.!!! If you can’t afford a pump you don’t know if you’ll ever use, I’d recommend a hand pump as a backup!!!

How do you start exclusively pumping? Do you recommend breastfeeding first to build up your supply or start pumping right away?

I have a spectra and I have a wearable, but I combo feed so if I have a low supply day I just supplement more with formula.
