Being 2 years out having nerve issues on the top of my foot and 3 small toes. Getting my hardware out was the best decision ever just hating my nerve trauma.

7 weeks post op for trimalleolar ankle surgery a year and a half after MPFL reconstruction and a faulkerson procedure (basically a very brutal knee procedure). Being brutally honest, it sucks in the beginning and no one tells you about the mental challenges. But it gets better slowly. You’ll be told you’re allowed to ditch the crutches and you’ll feel like you’re running. You’ll get told to ditch the boot and you’ll feel like you’re flying. Rehab is going to suck, it starts slow, and if your anything like me your going to want to go fast and go go go go go and mentally it will drive you nuts. Find your true friends, have them over, find a hobby, find a series on TV or some movies you’ve yet to watch, KEEP THE BRAIN STIMULATED. They may tell you that you can’t move on your ankle, but don’t let the rest of your body get stiff. I promise it gets better.

Currently 2 weeks post op and literally taking a nap or falling asleep is hard bc my foot will jerk pretty hard mid falling asleep and hurt my ankle so bad and I hate it 😪

7 weeks post op. Started weight bearing 3 weeks ago. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I was so excited to walk again but I was humbled quickly. It’s painful and a hard mental battle.🥺

Not good. I’m 8 weeks post op. 4 fractures,16 screws, 2 plates. I’m in constant pain. I can hardly do my PT exercises, I can’t walk. Have nerve pain but can’t take nerve medications. My muscles are so tight I can’t walk hardly flex my foot. I have constant spasms. The color in my foot is purple unless I have it elevated, it doesn’t go away for a while. If I have it wrapped the indentations from the wrap take literal hours to go away. I have an MRI tomorrow to check for compartment syndrome

6 weeks post op here. No pain besides sometimes I can feel the screws. I’m NWB but I can put weight on it as my foot isn’t super swollen and my incisions have all healed on the outside. Pain level 0/10 😁

Almost 6 weeks post op and the nerve pain is giving me a run for my money. It’s like it won’t go away. The tingling the numbness the sensitivity 😫

Yes ugh - the swelling has been absolutely horrendous, cast comes off tomorrow 6 weeks non weight bearing can’t wait for the actual boot lol Best of luck to you and for a speedy recovery ❤️🩹

I’m 6 weeks post op, I’m walking partial weight bearing and doing a little bit more each day. The heel pain is what bothers me. So be ready your heel may hurt and the ankle may tingle. But it’ll all be worth it to walk again❤️listen to your body and don’t go too fast
