ik akimi yoshida was a huge fan of both Salinger and Hemingway. i tried reading just because of that. i finished one of the books an episode was named after, for whom the bell tolls by ernest Hemingway, and the ending is so similar to banana fish

omg this is the best thing ever I thought of this idea once I did a rewatch with a friend who had read some of the title books and was connecting how they fit the bf story, but I never got around it maybe I should give it a try at my own pace😌
