For devoted men, the emotional toll outweighs genetic predisposition. Men aren't nearly as social as women, we're much less likely to trust and be open. Choosing a wife for most men is choosing a life partner and the biggest decision of their life. It absolutely crushes a man to devote entirely to a single woman, place all their efforts into that one basket, all their faith in their own judgement of peoplr around them, when they discover betrayal at that level.

I totally agree with what you are saying, as I have personally experienced this truma. Happened almost 12 years ago now and I still feel the pain. I have a son with her and he was 5 at the time.
