Yes, there are situations where you genuinely need outside help, especially where there are concerns about safety, abuse, serious mental health issues or professional support. But don’t expose your child’s private struggles simply because you want relatives to take your side or pressure them into submission. Protect their dignity. Listen first. Talk as a household where appropriate. And know the difference between seeking necessary help and unnecessarily exposing your child’s private life.
