Despair is understanding. She sees people at their most broken and knows what their sorrow will bring. She knows why people don’t want to see her and the fact that she apologizes to Dream for him coming to her realm is a little heartbreaking. But she comforts him, even knowing he’ll leave again.

This Despair is my favorite. She likes to watch those who deserve it suffer and comforts those who don’t. The first Despair literally reveled in causing despair. Didn’t care who or what.
