I lived in America during Carter. Did Reagan inherit a strong economy from his administration? I might be wrong but after 12 years of Reagan then Bush I seem to recall Clinton walking into a lush period and rather peaceful? I could be wrong.

Stability means business can plan, that results in a stronger economy. The Dems bring stability where the GOP brings instability, and greater debt (which also raises the cost of borrowing - also bad for business…)

The luck you clam with lower oil prices, calmer world and productivity booms can be directly related to the situation now. A chaotic world, (mostly from Trumps policys), higher oil prices (directly a result of Trumps war with Iran), and waxing productivity, well noone wants to invest now when you don't know what shit Trump will think up next!

I remember him being a democrat! I’ve always assumed the Trump the US has todays is basically like a spurned lover because the Democrats wouldn’t let him run for them. I’ve always assumed that’s why he hates them so much.

The reality is no party since the introduction of neoliberal capitalism has been a party of the economy. It's been a constant degradation of the working class. Even under Clinton's "miracle economy" wages never rose in line with productivity and never over his term outpaced inflation on the whole.
