the only thing Kubo actually liked from that movie was the re-animated opening fight that was actually in the manga (Ulq vs Vasto Ichigo), Kubo even said that's exactly how he envisioned that actual fight)

This reminds me of the non canon hunter x hunter movies where EVERYBODY is so out of character and also they introduce nen but evil even though nen was always morally neutral and benefitted both kind spirited and evil depraved people alike.

The Hell Verse movie was honestly still really good imo, even if it doesn’t follow what Kubo had in mind for the movie, I still think they did a good job as portraying Hell is this place of despair and misery where all of the sinners are spiraled into a never-ending cycle of constant death and rebirth and suffering, having to feel the pain of all eternity
