I think a lot of people are missing the fact that you read to them and you talked to them. Language acquisition is HUGE. Outdoor time also helps with emotional regulation.

What people don’t understand that many of the things you did with them required very little money. Time you spend with your kids is free!!!! Way to go mom.

I did all of these things except homeschool but I have to be honest: private school was a CRITICAL component as well. Add no screens during the week and lots of SPORTS!

My mom did a similar routine 🥰 library and limited technology was major for our development imho. As a technologist, hold off on the smartphones as long as is reasonable.

The memorization thing is huge not to talk trash about schools, but it’s all about memorization and then once you get out in the real world, it’s more about critical thinking which you should develop

Go mom! This takes incredible amounts of discipline on your part. I have guilt for not being more disciplined with structure when my son was little. At the same time I’m grateful I had the privilege to stay home, take things slow, homeschool for a bit, and prioritize no screens. But there are certainly times I wish I could go back and do some things differently!

I've worked full time my kids whole life and I feel like we're on this road too. For us it's about exposure to as much as possible and creating value in the time we do have together.

I did none of this sh*t and my daughter is literally building a RV12IS two seater sports plane and a 4 piston boxer engine at school. Find what instrest your kids and SUPPORT it no matter what you think. Not every kid is destined for valedictorian, but every kid is destined for a job.

I did/do all of this except the screen time and tv. Eating dinner together every night is so underrated!

I’d there a point to over achieving if they are just going to end up at a desk job for the rest of their life?
