I get so much anxiety having mine done, because it kills. Which in turn raises my blood pressure. I’ve always covered my arms and legs as I’m so embarrassed by them. I’m going to the drs in a few weeks about my legs, I know I have lipodema (legs, bum, stomach and arms) but I’m also sure I have lymphoedema too.

my doctor always puts mine on my forearm near the elbow, she said it gives the same readings and doesn't hurt the same. she was right

I always tell them I need it doing from my lower forearm. its not quite as accurate but it works well enough xx

ive been having to take my blood pressure a lot lately due to it being high. I have been getting bruises and unexplained bruising on my legs. my arms are like yours amd so are the tops of my legs. would you say I have the same? I have had many issues amd blood tests but get fobbed off by my gp saying its nothing. all bloods ive had done for various reasons have come back as normal no action required. I do also have the factor for rhumetoid arthritis but he won't do anything with a low crp level.

Does the thigh cuff help? I always feel like my arm is going to burst open when I have a normal cuff on and freaking out doesn't exactly give an accurate reading. Bloody hate having it done

I bought a home machine and got a horrible bruise and it hurt so much that my pressure shot up! I thought I was being a wimp (which I’m generally not) but hearing you say this it all makes sense.

Hey there! So, this whole thing really messes with my readings. Now, I actually keep a wristband one with me whenever I head to the doctor's because it gives way better numbers. Get this, they've even misplaced the big cuff *twice* while I've been there and had to do an intravenous one, which is just not fun at all. Oh, and seriously, why in the world do they try and do it when you're asleep?! It's such a pain in the butt to wake up to that!

Mine hurts but because I have a low pulse on my left arm, so doesn’t get detected. But majority of doctors/nurses don’t listen till the cuff tightens and then just stops but I’m in agony

I always ask for a thigh cuff, when they use a smaller cuff or take the blood pressure from your forearm ect because they dont have the correct size, it typically gives an inaccurate or worse result.

oh never put two and two together 😳😳 it's so embarrassing and painful I made mistakes of having mine done at pharmacy 😬😬 had 3 of them trying in end as not really had a big enough cuff 😬😬
